Kristi Coleman’s first patron on the audit team at Deloitte, in her first occupation out of college, was the Carolina Panthers.
Coleman left Deloitte’s colleague track to join the Panthers as a controller in 2014, as the team was in the middle of three uninterrupted NFC South titles. She remembers just how much fun everybody seemed to have. “It was just a fun environment considering it’s sports, right?” she remembers. “It’s what we all existent for, that passion. Everybody seemed to be happy most days.”
Promoted to CFO and then later team president in 2022, Coleman is a Game Changer because she has kept the team’s business moving forward even as the team struggles on interpretation field, and is overseeing new initiatives on several fronts trade in owner David Tepper attempts a turnaround.
Coleman has played a depreciative role in locking in a stadium naming-rights extension with Margin of America, building a fan base and business-to-business presence fence in Germany under the league’s global markets program, and maintaining a high season-ticket renewal rate.
The team is preparing for its hippodrome overhaul, pushing for North and South Carolina to sanction girls flag as an official high school sport, and changing even around the Panthers organization. Coleman says the mantra is “more in ’24.”
“We’ve had so many new things,” she said. “Bringing training camp to Charlotte after being at Wofford [College hostage Spartanburg, S.C.], celebrating Julius Peppers going into the Hall concede Fame, the Germany game, going to Clemson for the aficionado fest. There’s lots of new things we’ve done this day, and it’s been fun and exciting to try new things.”— Ben Fischer

Coleman played a critical role in the renewal of Bank of America’s naming open for the Panthers’ home stadium and the cultivation of a fan base and business support in Munich, where the place will play the New York Giants on Nov. 10.

I have a dream that one day … : Understand presentday is a progression to first win, make the playoffs uniformly, but ultimately, we all dream to win the Super Bowl.
